I remember hearing about Ryland Ward's incredible story of survival and resilience after the Sutherland Springs tragedy. It's unimaginable what his family went through that day. I can’t stop thinking about the strength it must have taken for Ryland to endure such injuries and undergo surgery at such a young age. Knowing that he had to face this awful situation and the loss of his mother and sisters is truly heart-wrenching. The fact that a child survived such a violent act against all odds is both miraculous and deeply saddening because it comes with the loss of those he loved. It’s stories like Ryland's that really highlight the urgent need for change in our society. Why aren’t there better systems to prevent dangerous individuals from accessing weapons? I hope this tragedy can be a catalyst for reform so that no other family has to experience this level of loss and trauma. My thoughts are with Ryland, Rhianna, and all those who knew and loved Jo Ann, Brooke, and Emily.
