Lonnie Benjamin Moore Sr., 41, was found dead on April 11, 2018, after suffering a gunshot wound to his torso. The investigation led to the arrest of Moore Sr.’s 18-year-old son, Lonnie Benjamin Moore Jr., who was charged with murder and taken into custody the following day at the Tarrant County Jail on $25,000 bond. Authorities did not disclose a motive, and detectives said they continued searching for additional evidence to build the case. Neighbors were reported to have been urged to assist in locating the suspect, who was described as armed and dangerous.
