Has anyone else been thinking about the role of the legal system in the Painter tragedy? It’s incredibly disheartening to see how these kinds of tragedies can often have layers of systemic failure behind them. Amanda Simpson had already expressed concerns over Justin's mental state, yet he was still given shared custody. It just makes you wonder how many other cases might be slipping through the cracks due to similar issues.
I can’t even begin to imagine what Amanda must be going through, having voiced her fears to the court only to have them turn into this nightmare. It’s so important to have proper evaluations and to take mental health warnings seriously in custody decisions. Just hoping for some reflection and change from those who are in positions to make these critical decisions. Sending all my strength and support to Amanda and everyone else impacted by this tragedy.
