Has anyone else been thinking about the role of surveillance footage in bringing closure to Dr. Hausknecht's case? It's eerie how crucial a few seconds of video can become. I can't imagine how difficult it must have been for Dr. Hausknecht's family and colleagues to know that the man responsible could potentially still be out there if it weren't for the community stepping up and helping identify Pappas. It makes me grateful we live in an age where technology can aid investigations, though it's disheartening when it all ends without a trial. Dr. Hausknecht's senseless murder is a reminder of how fragile life is. My thoughts go out to everyone still grappling with his loss. His impact is felt not just in Houston, but far beyond, especially when you consider how many lives he improved. Rest in peace, Dr. Hausknecht.
