Has anyone else been following the sentencing outcomes in Moyses Arreguin's case? I can't wrap my head around the fact that Oscar Garcia was released on parole after serving less than three years. It feels incredibly unjust when we consider the gravity of Moyses' actions that day. He didn't hesitate to step in and protect his neighbor, showing immense bravery. It's so disheartening to think about how his family must feel, seeing one of the individuals responsible for his death walking free so soon. I know the justice system has its complexities, especially with juveniles, but where do we draw the line? For a life cut short in such a tragic way, it feels like a gross understatement of accountability. My heart aches for Moyses' children, growing up without their father due to these senseless actions. How do we cope with systems that seem to fall short in honoring the true weight of loss?
