I’ve been thinking a lot about Michael's passion for cooking and how his love for cars seemed to define who he was in his community. Friends and family have often shared stories about how he could fix just about anything under the hood and whip up a meal that left everyone asking for seconds. It’s so infuriating to know that someone with such life and skill was taken in such a horrific way. One thing that really stands out to me is how the family is choosing to honor Michael. The idea of transforming the area where such a horrible act took place into a park or community space is incredibly powerful. It's touching that they want something positive in the place of their immense grief. I truly admire their resilience and hope that this will not only keep Michael’s memory alive but also possibly bring about real change in the community. I can’t imagine the pain Michael’s loved ones are going through, but their actions show such strength. If anyone has more information on how to support their efforts or the petition, please share. It's so important to back their fight for justice and healing.
