Hey everyone,
I've been thinking a lot about Karen Finney's case and specifically about the potential warning signs that friends and family noticed but perhaps didn't realize the severity of. It's so troubling to think about the bruises that Karen reportedly had, which were often brushed off with excuses. It makes you wonder how many people are going through similar situations silently.
What really gets me is how these signs of abuse can sometimes be mistaken for 'normal' in relationships, especially when someone like Jarvis Franklin has such a history of violence. It's infuriating and tragic. I feel so deeply for Karen’s children and the rest of her family; the burden of not being able to notice the signs until it's too late must be unimaginable.
One thing I've been thinking about is the importance of awareness and intervention before situations escalate to this point. I hope Karen's story can help promote more open conversations around recognizing abuse and offering support to those in need. Has anyone heard if the community has put in place any new support systems as part of the awareness-raising efforts? Would love to hear more about any positive changes happening as a result of Karen's story.
Stay safe out there and hug your loved ones a little tighter today.
