I've been following Desmond's case and it's just so frustrating how safety concerns in downtown St. Louis have been largely ignored for so long. It truly hits differently when a young life is lost in such a senseless act of violence. It sounds like Desmond was in the wrong place at the wrong time, but that could be any of us or our loved ones. I wonder if there were any surveillance cameras near the Arch Grounds that could have captured anything? It seems like such a high-traffic area would have coverage, right? My heart goes out to the woman who was injured too. I hope she's receiving the support she needs. These kinds of cases focus attention on law enforcement, but maybe our community should push harder for more safety measures. Does anyone have updates on this or know what the city might be doing to address the ongoing violence?
