Has anyone else been thinking about the role of communication in the tragic case of Osmen Mar? It’s so devastating how a breakdown in communication can lead to such irreversible outcomes. Being just 18, Osmen had his whole life ahead of him, and it’s hard to swallow that such a heated moment could escalate so quickly. It seems like Osmen was just reacting emotionally, and it spiraled from there. I can’t help but wonder if things might have turned out differently if there had been a way to deescalate the situation before Aguila got involved. My heart goes out to Osmen’s family and friends, who have to live with this senseless loss. This case is such a painful reminder of the importance of addressing conflict without resorting to violence.
