It's so baffling to think about how Matt Thomas Amon's case was left unreported for so long. I mean, 50 years is a huge gap in time! How did we go from him being just released from jail in 1971 to not having any official investigation until decades later? You would think that with his arrest and alleged drug connections, someone would have noticed his absence back then, right? The delay makes me wonder if there were people back then who assumed he just skipped town due to his lifestyle or if there was something more sinister going on. It's sad that any potential eyewitnesses or people who knew Matt at the time are now much older, and memories might be fuzzier. I really hope someone with knowledge steps forward, even after all this time, to shed some light on what happened to him.
