Matt Thomas Amon, age 20, was last seen on August 11, 1971, in Pocatello, Idaho. Prior to his disappearance, Matt had been arrested for disorderly conduct in July 1971 and spent several weeks in Bannock County Jail. He disappeared shortly after his release, and no one has heard from him since. At the time of his disappearance, Matt was involved with a rough crowd and allegedly had connections to heroin use.
Despite these circumstances, his case wasn't reported until decades later, making it difficult to uncover further details about his fate.
Matt is described as a 5'9" Caucasian male with black hair, a receding hairline, and brown eyes. He had a distinctive scar on his forehead. Investigators have noted that although some identifying information, such as fingerprints and DNA, are available, no solid leads have emerged over the years.
