Jon Barrett, a 68-year-old resident of Pocatello, Idaho, disappeared on November 4, 2008, under mysterious circumstances. Barrett, who was diabetic and in poor health, was last seen by neighbors on the evening of November 9, 2008. His sudden disappearance shocked his community, as he was a well-known figure often seen around town with his dogs. One of the more puzzling aspects of Barrett's disappearance involved his light green Dodge Caravan. The vehicle disappeared along with him but reappeared at his home shortly after he was reported missing. Investigators were unable to determine who returned the van, and no clear leads emerged from this odd development. Further complicating the case, a friend of Barrett's, Randall Toone, used Barrett's debit card a few days after his disappearance, making a minor purchase at a clothing store. Toone claimed he had permission to use the card, but was later convicted on credit card fraud charges unrelated to the case. While Toone was the last person to see Barrett, he was not named a suspect, and his involvement remains uncertain.
Despite extensive searches and investigations, no substantial clues about Barrett's whereabouts have been found.
