I’ve been following Rebecca Leigh Fithen’s case closely, and it’s beyond difficult to wrap my mind around the loss this family has experienced. While reading about the incident, I came across details about the fundraisers organized for Dawn, Rebecca’s mother. It’s truly touching to see the community come together in such trying times, providing aid and support. Dawn is faced with such an impossible burden, especially with starting a new job and having no financial safety net. I hope these efforts are easing at least some of her immediate worries. The strength of the people around her and their generosity remind me of the deep wells of kindness people can tap into when tragedy strikes. It’s something tangible we can all hold on to, even in the darkest moments.

I came across a post about Rebecca Leigh Fithen and felt compelled to share some thoughts about the emotional toll such tragedies place on a community. Although I didn't know Rebecca personally, her story struck a chord with me. As a parent and a fellow community member, I can only imagine the profound impact her loss has had on her friends and classmates at Bonham Middle School. It's a tender age, where friendships are important, and children are just beginning to discover themselves and their interests. To hear about someone as compassionate as Rebecca, who was full of dreams and loved her puppy, is ultimately sobering. I hope that her peers have been given appropriate support to process what happened. I can't help but admire how the community has come together to support Dawn during such a challenging time. It's a testament to the strength and kindness within Rebecca's circle and Amarillo as a whole. It's so crucial that we continue to support each other and keep the memory of bright souls like Rebecca alive. Sending all my love and strength to everyone who knew and cared for her.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the kind of person Rebecca was—the little things that really defined her sweet spirit. I heard that she used to spend her weekends at the local animal shelter, not just to pet the animals, but to help clean and care for them. These small acts of kindness tell you everything about her character. It's incredibly hard to accept that someone with so much love to give and so many dreams will never get the chance to grow up and fulfill those aspirations. I can’t stop imagining what little Bella must be going through right now. Animals can sense when something is wrong. It’s really important for us to support Dawn and see if there might be ways to help her and Bella as they navigate through this tragedy. Dawns facing so much and our community must stick together. Sending my thoughts and prayers to Dawn and everyone who knew and loved Rebecca. She seems like she was a truly special soul who touched many lives, even in her short time with us. ?
