I've been following the Heng Lam case closely since it happened, and it's so sad to think about how this unfolded. Something I've been pondering is the role of surveillance footage in tracking down the suspects. It's remarkable and somewhat chilling how surveillance technology can both offer a sense of security yet be a vital tool in solving such cases. Most of us might not think twice about the cameras we pass under daily, but in this tragic event, that footage was crucial for bringing the culprits to justice. The fact that they managed to identify Espinoza and Martinez despite their attempts to cover their faces is a testament to the capabilities of modern investigative techniques and the diligence of the Garland Police Department. It’s comforting, at least a little, to know that these tools aren't just watching but actively contributing to justice and safety. My thoughts are with Lam's family and friends; I can’t imagine the heartache they’re going through.
