Has anyone else been following the closure of Jim's Car Wash after Sheila Sanders' tragic death? I've been reading up on the consequences of shutting down this community spot, and it seems pretty complicated. On one hand, I completely understand the need to address the crime issues surrounding the location, but part of me feels for Marshall and others who depended on that place. It’s hard enough losing Sheila in such a senseless way, and then to see jobs and a community gathering spot vanish too? The whole area must just feel that much emptier. I wonder how the closure has affected businesses nearby and if this move by the city has made any difference in community safety. It seems like such a complex situation with no easy answers. My heart really goes out to Sheila’s family and everyone caught in this wave of change.
