I've always found it curious how Helen Brach was so quickly declared dead without solid evidence of her fate. Sure, Jack Matlick's story is full of holes, and the whole "picking her up at O'Hare" thing doesn't add up, but I'm more intrigued by the timeline gaps. If Matlick spent a few days with her after the supposed return flight, why isn't there a single sighting or any physical evidence from that period? It's as if she vanished into thin air between Minnesota and Illinois. Also, can we talk about how fortunate it was for Matlick that no substantial evidence ever tied him directly to any wrongdoing in her disappearance? It's baffling, to say the least.?️‍♀️
It's so puzzling to think about the timeline of Helen Brach's last known movements. Why wasn't there more of an effort to nail down exactly what happened at the airport? It seems odd that no one can confirm she was ever there. Airports, even back in 1977, would have had lots of people around, staff, passengers, etc. You'd think someone would remember seeing a well-dressed woman like Helen at one of the busiest airports in the world. Then, there's Jack Matlick's story about picking her up. His timeline just seems off, doesn't it? If she truly made it back to Chicago, where’s the concrete evidence? I'm convinced that more might come out about her somehow slipping under the radar between Minnesota and Illinois. Who knows what key detail has been overlooked in the rush of those days surrounding her disappearance?
I’ve been following the Helen Brach case for years, and something that always bothers me is the timeline of her last known movements. Specifically, the visit to the gift shop at the Mayo Clinic. It feels like such an important yet overlooked detail. If Helen told someone in the shop that she was in a hurry, she clearly had plans to leave soon, presumably to catch her flight. Yet no one recalls seeing her at the airport or on the flight. Could it be that whoever planned something sinister intercepted her between those two locations? I find it hard to believe that no CCTV footage exists from a busy place like the Mayo Clinic or the airport, even though we’re talking about 1977. Does anyone else think that the lack of immediate reporting and investigation at the airport allowed too much time for the case to go cold? It feels like crucial hours and days were lost in trying to trace her steps after leaving that gift shop.
