I've been following the tragic events of the El Paso Walmart shooting, and I just can't stop thinking about how incredible David Alvah Johnson was during such a terrifying moment. His actions were nothing short of heroic. To push his wife and granddaughter to safety, knowing full well he was putting himself in harm's way, speaks volumes about his character and love for his family. The way his nephew, Dominic Partridge, described his uncle's actions as the "ultimate selfless act" truly touched me. It got me thinking about the immense strength it must take to stay calm and focused in such chaos. His last words being spent to ensure his family got to safety just reflect the kind of man he was—a protector to the very end. I can't even begin to fathom how his loved ones are coping with this loss. My heart goes out to them, and I hope they find some solace in knowing what a heroic figure he is to so many people. I'm joining others in honoring his courage and selflessness and keeping his family in my thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.
