I've been thinking a lot about Edward Magaña since reading about the tragic events in Houston in 2018. It seems so surreal that someone's regular day at work could end so horrifically. Although I didn't know him personally, I can't help but wonder what his last moments were like and how his passing has deeply affected those close to him. It's chilling to think that a trip to a regular Mattress One store, something so mundane and routine, ended in such tragedy. My heart truly goes out to Edward's family and friends. The fear that this spree instilled in the community is unimaginable, and it's a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities in our daily lives. I hope the ongoing conversations about parolee monitoring bring about meaningful changes to prevent such tragedies in the future.
