I was going through some old articles and stumbled upon James Jurica's case. Has anyone else looked into the weather conditions on August 2, 1978, the last day he was seen? I can't help but wonder if something about the currents or storms could have played a role if he did try to swim from South to North Manitou Island. That four-mile gap isn't just a calm lake swim; it can be incredibly treacherous. Does anyone have more info on who he spoke with that last day or if there were any boats nearby that could've helped him? Seems like such a long time with so few clues.
