I can't shake the haunting image of the community coming together for the candlelight vigil. It's just so hard to imagine the pain Eleanor and her siblings' friends must be going through right now. They were so young, and their lives were cut short in such a tragic way. It's often in the aftermath of such a traumatic event that we see the true strength of a community. I’ve read that the school brought in grief counselors, which I’m sure is helpful, but I hope the support continues long after the news cameras are gone. Sometimes these communities feel pressure to move on quickly, but grief doesn’t operate on a timetable. Has anyone heard if the school or neighborhood is planning any long-term memorial or remembrance events? Keeping the memory of Eleanor, Parrish, and Lincoln alive seems so important, not only for honoring them but also for helping everyone affected to process and heal. It's just so difficult thinking about what they must have experienced in their final moments—the terror, the confusion. It breaks my heart for them and for their father and grandfather, who are left dealing with such a giant void in their lives. The scars left behind will surely last a lifetime.
