Has anyone else been following the trial of Nyee Duncan closely? I’ve been thinking a lot about the surviving victim in this case. I can’t even begin to imagine what they’re going through—witnessing something so horrific and then having to relive it over and over again in court and through media coverage. It's so important for them to have support through all of this. The psychological impact must be immense, and they’ll likely need support for a long time to come. I hope they have a strong network of friends and professionals to help them cope. It’s just so tragic that violence like this can ripple through a person's life, even if they survive. My heart goes out to them and to the families of Eugene Mathews and Jaquilla Dixon. Curious if anyone knows of resources or ways the community is coming together to support them?

I came across this case and it truly struck a chord with me. The idea of someone being betrayed by their godson, a person typically seen as part of the family, is incredibly unsettling. How does someone go from being a trusted figure in a family's life to committing such a heinous act? It's hard to wrap my head around. From what I've read, it seems like Romalius and Jaquilla were deeply involved in their community. I wonder if they had any indication of trouble brewing with Duncan, or if it completely blindsided them. It must be such a shock for their friends and family to deal with all of this—losing them in such a violent way and then learning about the suspect's connection to them. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved them. I hope that somewhere down the line, they can find some peace and closure. It's encouraging to see that the authorities are putting in the effort to ensure justice is served. This community deserves answers and a sense of security after experiencing something so traumatic. If anyone knows where I can find more information on the legal proceedings, feel free to share.
