I came across this case while browsing through unsolved crimes in Houston, and my heart goes out to Juanisha Fortune's family, especially her kids. It’s just terrible to think about what they’ve been through since that night in January 2020. I know people call that area dangerous, but it still doesn’t make sense why this happened to someone like her.
I noticed on one of the local news stations that the family has been tirelessly distributing flyers and raising awareness, which is amazing given how much they must be struggling themselves. It shows how much they cared for her and how desperate they are for justice.
It’s frustrating that there aren’t any leads despite having that surveillance footage, but it reminds me how critical it is for anyone with even the tiniest bit of information to come forward. You never know what might break a case like this wide open. I really hope they find who did this soon. If anyone is in that area or recognizes the suspect from the video, don’t hesitate to reach out to the authorities. This family deserves answers and closure.
Has anyone considered the potential role of the local community in aiding with the investigation into Juanisha Fortune's murder? It's been a few years now, and it’s deeply concerning that the person responsible is still at large. I genuinely feel for Fortune’s family, especially her six kids who have been left without their mom.
The release of the surveillance video was a step in the right direction, but maybe more community-driven efforts could help identify the suspect? Community watch programs or neighborhood forums might be beneficial in gathering more clues or previous sightings of the suspect.
Also, I’ve read about cases where local residents came together to organize vigils or awareness events that not only honored the victims but also reignited interest in unsolved cases. Could this be a possibility that might encourage someone with information to finally come forward?
I hope Fortune's family finds the closure they deserve. If there’s anyone in the Houston area or familiar with local groups willing to take part or assist, it might be worth reaching out.
