Hey everyone,
I've been following the discussion around Shiheim Ali Poe’s tragic case, and something that really stands out to me is the community’s struggle with trust in law enforcement. It’s clear that this distrust is a major barrier to solving cases like Shiheim’s. I can’t help but wonder how much more information would surface if people felt safer coming forward.
I’ve seen other cities implement community liaison programs where civilians act as intermediaries to foster better communication with the police. Do you think something like that could work in St. Louis? I feel like rebuilding this trust is crucial not just for solving Shiheim's case but for preventing future tragedies as well.
My heart goes out to his family and friends who must be experiencing unthinkable pain, not just from losing him but from the frustration of the case remaining unsolved. How can the community and law enforcement start working together more effectively to create change?
Would love to hear others' thoughts or if there are any initiatives currently in place that I might not be aware of.
Stay safe, everyone.
