I was recently reading about Harvey Long’s disappearance and something just doesn’t add up to me. I mean, how does a non-ambulatory person just vanish without a trace? It’s strange, especially considering there were no reports of suspicious activity in the area at that time. Could it be possible someone took advantage of his situation? I’m not convinced it was a spur-of-the-moment decision. Maybe someone close to him knew about his vulnerability. Has anyone else looked into the people around him or any caregivers he might have had? These old cases are frustrating because so much time has passed, but maybe someone out there remembers something. ?
Does anyone else find it odd that there were no witnesses or anyone who saw something on New Year's Eve when Harvey Long disappeared? Even back in 1983, it seems like someone might have noticed something unusual, especially in a neighborhood. I read that he was non-ambulatory due to a broken hip, so it’s hard to imagine he just vanished without some assistance or someone seeing him. Could it be that everyone was too caught up with the holiday celebrations to notice anything? Maybe someone overlooked something minor that could be key. If anyone was in the Menlo Park area that night and remembers anything—even if it seems insignificant—it could be worth sharing with the authorities. Just thinking about it gives me chills; here's hoping someone remembers something soon.
