I can't help but keep wondering if there might be some significance to the fact that Clarence was wearing Hush Puppies shoes the night he disappeared. This might sound odd, but everything I’ve read about dementia suggests people sometimes find safety in familiar habits or items. Could these shoes have been a comfort thing for him, and did they perhaps lead him somewhere familiar to him? Maybe there's someone local to Sudlersville or the areas he frequently visited who remembers an older gentleman regularly seen wearing those shoes? If anyone has local connections, it might be worth checking out. Clarence may have found himself in a spot he thought was safe due to memories tied to those walks in his familiar cozy shoes. Thoughts?

I was reading through the thread about Clarence James Plummer's disappearance and something caught my attention. Having dementia must have been incredibly disorienting for him, and I can’t help but wonder if he might have somehow managed to get further than anyone believes. It was 1984, and with less sophisticated tracking and communication devices than we have now, even a small slip might've led him much farther than expected. Knowing he was trying to reach family in Delaware makes me think it’s possible he could have hitched a ride without anyone realizing who he was. With his distinctive physical features like the scar and no teeth, it seems like someone might remember giving him a lift. I’m curious if there were any reported sightings along possible routes to Delaware around that time. Does anyone know if they've reached out to nearby towns in Delaware or if they conducted any coordinated searches there after he went missing?
