Hey everyone,
I wanted to bring some attention to something that struck me about Willie Porter’s case in St. Louis. I was pondering the role that community events and outreach programs could play in reducing these kinds of tragedies. It's devastating to see how, despite various attempts to bring people together, the fear of retaliation or lack of trust perhaps stops witness cooperation.
Given how loved Willie was by friends and his family, I’m sure there were people who might have seen something or knew something but hesitated to come forward. I wonder if promoting more community-led safety initiatives could help bridge the gap between residents and law enforcement.
It’s so sad that his family is left without answers, and I can’t even imagine the pain they’re going through. They're in my thoughts, and I hope they eventually find the justice and peace they deserve. Would love to hear any thoughts from locals or anyone involved in similar initiatives.
