I’ve been following the Emmanuel Kofi Osei case and wanted to talk a bit about the mental health side of things. It really struck me when I read about how Micha’s brother mentioned potential mental health struggles. It seems like this was a situation where intervention might have made a difference. It’s incredibly tough for families dealing with these crises and even harder when they feel like they’ve exhausted their options. What really worries me is how, despite several previous calls for help, things escalated to such a terrible outcome. I'm no expert, but it feels like communities and authorities need more resources to properly address mental health issues before they reach a breaking point. It’s a nightmarish scenario for any family, so my heart really goes out to them. Let’s hope that by shedding light on this aspect, we can push for better support systems, not just in Fort Bend but everywhere.
