I was just reading about the murder of Floyd Walker Jr. and his friend Billy "Shake" Belvins, and it's really eye-opening how the broader community of San Bernardino reacted back then. It wasn't just about their tragic deaths; it seemed to be a wake-up call highlighting the systemic issues plaguing their city. The fact that the police quickly labeled Walker as gang-affiliated, without solid proof, really shows how deep these stereotypes can cut. It must have been incredibly distressing for their families to not only lose their loved ones in such a violent way but then also to see them misrepresented. It sheds light on some of the trust issues between the community and law enforcement there. It's frustrating to see that despite the rallies and public attention, there still hasn't been any significant progress in the case. It makes you wonder what more needs to be done to bring justice not just for these men, but for all the other families in similar situations. I truly hope they find the answers and peace they're searching for. Sending strength to their families and everyone affected by this.
