I was thinking about how deeply flawed the system is that was supposed to protect Samantha. It's just so tragic how she clearly did everything she could to try to keep herself and her daughters safe. The fact that the protective order did nothing to prevent this is incredibly frustrating. I can't even imagine the anger and pain her family must be feeling as they try to pick up the pieces after this senseless act. Even more so, my heart just goes out to her daughters. I keep thinking about how those little girls had to witness something no child should ever see. I hope they're surrounded by lots of love and support right now. It's going to be a tough journey for them. For anyone who has any information, no matter how small it might seem, please come forward. It could make a world of difference in bringing justice for Samantha. It's hard enough dealing with loss, but to have it compounded by unanswered questions is just unimaginable. Let’s keep talking about this and pushing for change so that the system starts to protect victims like Samantha instead of failing them.

I can't stop thinking about how the justice system let Samantha down. She did everything she was supposed to do by getting a protective order, yet it failed to keep her safe when she needed it most. It’s terrifying to think that someone could violate such orders repeatedly without facing any real consequences. How is that supposed to make victims of domestic violence feel protected? My heart goes out to Samantha's family and especially her daughters, who now have to grow up without their mom. No family should have to endure this kind of pain. Her story really highlights the urgent need for legal reforms that actually prioritize and ensure the safety of those who are vulnerable. Does anyone know if there are groups or organizations in San Antonio pushing for such changes in the wake of this tragedy? It's crucial we come together as a community to support efforts that will hopefully prevent another family from experiencing such a loss.
