Reading about Carlos Mikey Rall's case really makes me reflect on the larger issues at play in St. Louis during that tumultuous year. 2015 was supposed to be a time of growth, but instead, the city found itself grappling with an alarming spike in violence. The fact that Carlos's murder is still unsolved is a painful reminder of the challenges the community faces. In areas burdened with high crime rates, it's often the simple act of silence that stymies justice. Fear or distrust between the community and authorities can play a significant role in keeping witnesses from coming forward. I truly hope that with efforts from Crime Stoppers and the ongoing dedication of the detectives, someone will feel compelled to share what they know. Even the smallest piece of information could be the breakthrough needed. My thoughts are with Carlos's family who still bear the weight of his loss. Losing a young life with so much potential is a tragedy that many families should never have to endure. Let’s all hope for the day when Carlos and others like him can be granted the justice they deserve.
