I've been following Derrick D. Smith's case since it happened, and it's truly devastating to see that his murder remains unsolved after all these years. I can't help but think about the role the neighborhood's environment might have played in what happened. It's no secret that the Wells-Goodfellow area has had its struggles with crime and economic challenges for a long time. It just makes me wonder if this could have been a factor in Derrick's tragic death. It's incredibly frustrating thinking about how many lives this high rate of crime impacts, not just the victims but their families and the community as well. I really feel for Derrick's loved ones and everyone else in St. Louis dealing with the aftershocks of violence. My heart goes out to them. I hope that by continuing to discuss these issues and keeping Derrick's story alive, we can encourage more people to come forward with any information they might have, even if it's something small. If anyone has other thoughts on how the community environment might be addressed or has ideas on how to spur more action and collaboration in the area, I'd love to hear them. We need more voices raising awareness and working towards solutions.

It's really tragic to think about what Derrick's family must be going through, especially knowing how tough it is to get any leads in these cases. I can't imagine the pain his loved ones are feeling, waiting for answers that seem so out of reach. The Wells-Goodfellow area has seen its share of violence, and it's heartbreaking to see another life lost before its time. It's a reminder of how vital community support and cooperation are—sometimes it's just a single tip from someone who saw or heard something that can make all the difference. My thoughts are with Derrick’s family, and I really hope someone steps forward with information soon. They deserve the peace that comes with knowing the truth and seeing justice served.
