I was reading about the tragic case of Jason Smith, and one detail that really struck me was how his mom discovered him. I can't even imagine the anguish and shock she must have felt waking up to the sound of gunfire and finding her son like that. This isn't something any parent should ever have to experience. Also, it's unsettling to think that the suspect, Guy Cornell Jones, is still out there somewhere. I hope the community continues to come together to help HPD track him down so that Jason's family can find some sense of justice and peace. It's a heavy reminder of how these violent acts ripple out and affect not just the immediate family but the whole community. Let's hope for some positive developments in this case soon.
