I wanted to focus on the aftermath of the tragedy and how this might have affected Robert’s peers who experienced this traumatic night firsthand. I can't even begin to imagine how terrifying it must have been for everyone at that party, especially the young people who were just there to celebrate and have fun. It's such a crucial time in their lives, and to witness something so violent and life-altering must have left a deep impact on them. It makes me think about the importance of providing support for those who witnessed the shooting. Friends who shared classes with Robert or were present that night may find it very difficult to process what happened, especially as they return to normal life after experiencing such chaos. I hope schools are offering counselors or resources to help these kids through what is undoubtedly an incredibly challenging time. We often talk about the immediate victims and family members, but witnesses to violent events carry a heavy burden too. They too deserve empathy and support. Hoping for healing for everyone impacted by this senseless tragedy. ?
