It's just so difficult to process the idea that Jailah Nicole Silguero's life ended so violently and senselessly at such a tender age. I'm thinking a lot about how the community has been reacting and honoring these young victims. Did anyone else see the touching memorial set up outside Robb Elementary? The flowers, the handwritten notes, and the small tokens left by people moved by this tragedy—they all speak volumes about how deeply this has affected Uvalde and beyond. I can't even imagine what her family is going through, but it brings some solace to know that the community is rallying around them and keeping Jailah’s spirit alive through scholarships and memorials. I hope that these gestures, as small as they might seem in the face of such an immense loss, can provide a little comfort to those grieving. Keep those affected in your thoughts and let's keep pushing for changes so our children can be safer in schools.
