I can’t shake the sadness I feel for Edgar and his family. I’ve been following this case closely, and something that's been on my mind is the neighborhood’s request for more patrols before the tragedy happened. It's unsettling to think that their fears weren't addressed in time. It makes me wonder how much more the community has to go through before real changes are made. I hope the residents are getting the support they need now, and that Edgar's family can find some peace. This senseless act should be a wake-up call for stronger community protection. If anyone knows anything, please speak up for Edgar’s sake.
Hey everyone,
I’ve been following the case of Edgar Evarado Menchaca and his cousin, and it’s really stuck with me. There’s something that's truly haunting about how Edgar made the desperate call to 911 himself. I can’t even begin to imagine the fear and bravery required in those final moments. It just breaks my heart thinking of how close he was to possibly getting help, yet it wasn't enough to save him.
It really makes me wonder about the state of the neighborhood around Schley and South Mittman. It’s concerning that locals had already pleaded for increased police patrols. This was clearly a community on edge, and yet this tragic incident still happened. The whole situation highlights a need for better dialogue between communities and law enforcement—perhaps more community-driven approaches to tackle the violence could help?
I genuinely hope anyone with information finds it in their heart to come forward. Edgar’s family deserves closure, and our community can’t afford to let this case go unsolved.
Does anyone know if the police have updated their strategies or presence in the area since this took place?
Stay safe, everyone.

Knowing he had the courage to make that call shows just what a brave soul he was. It's such a haunting reminder that these were real kids with lives and futures ahead of them. I can only imagine the pain his family is feeling, hearing Edgar's voice on that call. I hope that this detail can act as a catalyst for the investigation and encourage anyone with information to step forward. If you or anyone you know heard anything about that night, please reach out to the authorities. Let's bring justice for Edgar and some peace to his grieving family.
