I’ve been following the case of Marshall Prosser's tragic death and wanted to share some thoughts on how technology plays a role in these investigations, particularly with tools like ShotSpotter. It’s frustrating to see technology that can detect gunshots isn’t always enough to solve a case. It's almost like there's a gap between the alerts and actually making an arrest. From what I understand, ShotSpotter detected the shots, which led the police to find Marshall. But then what? It seems like there needs to be more follow-up either in terms of real-time response or gathering witnesses. Also, it makes me think about the pressure on the local police, who are already dealing with limited resources and a high volume of cases. They’re working hard, but it’s not a fair fight against the streets’ complexity without community help or more comprehensive systems in place. Wishing strength and peace to Marshall’s family as they await justice. It must be incredibly difficult to deal with not only losing a loved one but also the uncertainty of an unsolved case.
