Hey everyone, I've been following the tragic case of Marisela Castro and wanted to bring up something that's been on my mind. Has anyone else noticed how crucial the surveillance footage turned out to be in identifying the suspects? It's terrifying to think what could have happened if there hadn't been any cameras around. The footage led to a breakthrough in what seemed like a very complex investigation. It makes you wonder how many cases get stalled because of the lack of such evidence. I can’t help but think of Marisela’s family during this time. Not only do they have to cope with this unbearable loss, but they’ve probably also had to endure the long process of the investigation. It’s clear that more needs to be done to protect the transgender community. Every life is precious, and it's devastating to see time and again how transgender individuals are targeted. This case is just another intense reminder that we need systemic changes to address these hate crimes and ensure justice is served swiftly. If anyone has more information on what steps are being taken to improve safety or how communities can support each other, please share. ?
