I’ve been following the Indian Creek Trail case, especially with John W. Palmer's tragic death in the spotlight. It's unsettling how this string of murders put the entire community on edge. I think one aspect that's really haunting is how these trails, which were once peaceful spaces for exercise and leisure, became shrouded in fear.
My heart goes out to Palmer’s family and everyone else affected by this series of attacks. It must be terrifying not knowing who might be lurking in these familiar places. I've heard they increased patrols, but did anyone else feel a tangible change in the community's use of the trails back then? Did people stop using them altogether, or was there a push to reclaim these spaces despite the fear? I can't imagine how the unease must have impacted daily life for the regular trail-goers.
