I've been thinking a lot about the Avila family and those affected by this tragedy in McGregor. It's so hard to wrap my head around how something so devastating could happen in such a tight-knit community like ours. My heart especially goes out to Miguel's friends at McGregor High School. I can't imagine what it must be like going back to school and not seeing Miguel's face in the halls. Losing a classmate is an unimaginable pain for young people to endure. This event is a harsh reminder of the impact of domestic violence on families and communities. As we come together to support the Avila family, it's also important that we push for more resources and support systems to help prevent these tragedies from happening in the first place. Let's continue to be there for the families and hold each other up in any way we can.
