It's puzzling to think about how fast things can change in life, like with Long Duong's case. Living in Santa Rosa and having a relatively normal routine working at G&G Supermarket, and then such a tragic accident occurs. I came across a similar incident while reading about coastal disappearances – seems like those rogue waves can be incredibly unpredictable and dangerous, especially around spots like Bodega Head. I wonder if there should be more warning signs posted in those areas to prevent such accidents? It's just so sad to think about how quickly that wave changed everything for him and his family. What do you all think could be done to improve safety for people enjoying these beautiful but unpredictable coastal spots?

Has anyone ever looked into the technicalities of that day at Bodega Head? I'm talking about ocean conditions, weather reports, and such? I know they say a freak wave caught him, but I'm curious about oceanography around there. In some areas, it's known for rogue waves—conditions and tides might play a significant role we don't think about. Could it be that this incident wasn't so unexpected? Maybe some locals familiar with the area can shed more light on whether events like this were common around that time in '98? Could be that this spot has a reputation for unusual water activity. Also, was anything ever done to warn people fishing there, or has it just been left as a tragic case? Thoughts?
