I've been closely following the case of Demarcus Harrell Jr., and like many others, I can't stop thinking about how much potential this young man had. At just 17, he was undoubtedly planning for his future—whether in school, sports, or another passion. It’s so troubling to think that he was taken from his loved ones and community so soon. I also find it incredibly unnerving that he was involved with individuals he knew, which makes the situation feel even more tragic. It really makes you wonder what might have drawn him to engage in the activities that led to this terrible incident. My heart goes out to his family and friends who must be experiencing such a profound loss. Here's hoping the ongoing investigation provides them some answers and maybe a way forward in time.
