Does anyone have more information on the lack of legal accountability following Victor Benner's tragic death? It's so disheartening to see that none of the guards faced prosecution. How could such a grievous mistake not see any consequences? I've read that the guards claimed to believe Benner and his colleagues were trespassers, but how did that mistake justify the use of lethal force, and why was nothing pursued legally afterward? It seems incredibly unjust to dismiss the value of Benner's life and the loss felt by those who cared for him. If anyone has insights or knows why investigations might have stalled, please share. It's important to continue honoring his sacrifice while seeking some form of justice or understanding even after all these years.
I've been researching more about the tragedy of Victor C. Benner and came across something that caught my attention. It’s incredibly disturbing that none of the railroad guards who opened fire were ever prosecuted. How does this happen? It feels like such a miscarriage of justice, given Benner's service and dedication. He was out there doing his job, trying to keep the community safe, and his life was cut short due to what seems like a reckless and tragic misunderstanding. I can't imagine the frustration and grief this must have caused for Benner’s family and friends. His story is a solemn reminder of the unpredictable dangers law enforcement officers face. Anyone know if there have been any further developments or efforts to recognize and right this wrong?
