I recently came across the cold case involving Murel Mitchell Marie and Hubert Johnson from 1969, and it's been haunting me ever since. Have any of you looked into the possible connection between the recent hospitalization of Murel Mitchell Marie and his murder? It's so perplexing to me that he was just released from Mountain Home Veteran’s Hospital in Johnson City, only to be murdered a few days later. Could there have been someone who knew of his release and had ill intentions? Or perhaps someone he met at the hospital itself?
It’s unsettling to think that Murel, after going through whatever required his hospital stay, came back to Knoxville just to face such a tragic end.
