Does anyone else feel an overwhelming sense of respect for Deputy Charles Frank Jordan? It's sobering to think about how he was just doing what he felt was right, responding to a burglar alarm despite being off-duty. He could have simply ignored it and carried on with his evening, but that's not who he was. The kind of courage and commitment he showed isn’t something you can teach—it's something that's deep in your bones. It’s hard not to think about his family, too. To lose someone in such a shocking, senseless way must be unimaginable. I'm heartened to know that part of Highway 70 bears his name, ensuring his sacrifice isn’t forgotten. If any locals are on this forum, do you know if the memorial sign is still standing strong? I feel it might serve as a small comfort to those who remember him, especially his family, knowing that the community honors his bravery.
