Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking a lot about the community’s role in these tragic events. It’s so difficult to imagine how Percy Allen IV’s family is navigating this grief, especially with a little one left behind. Something that really stands out to me is the role of the neighborhood in these incidents. There were accounts from neighbors who saw individuals fleeing the scene. It makes me wonder about what more we can do as communities to prevent these sorts of tragedies. It’s not just about having cameras or better street lighting, but building a tighter-knit, more aware community that looks out for each other. I feel for Percy’s family and friends; his death is such a huge loss, not just to them, but to everyone around who knew him even a little bit. I hope the attention this case has drawn can spark meaningful changes in East Lake Courts and beyond, so that Percy's death isn't in vain and we can prevent further violence. Thoughts?
