I've been following the case of Darius Small, and one part that really struck me was how involved the community became in seeking justice for him. It’s clear that Darius was loved by so many people in Memphis, and seeing the locals come together to support his family during such a painful time was incredibly moving. From what I’ve read, there were multiple rallies and vigils held in his memory, with people sharing stories about how much of a positive influence Darius was in their lives. I just can't imagine the void that his tragic death has left behind. Even though the legal system took its course, it’s the strength and solidarity of the community that stands out most to me. I also think it’s important to acknowledge how these collective actions can be a powerful way to keep a victim’s memory alive and remind us all of the importance of standing up against violence. My heart goes out to Darius’s family and friends, who continue to endure this tremendous loss. Stay strong, Memphis.
