I've been thinking a lot about the role of the community in the aftermath of Keon Hawkins and Kemontanez Armstrong's tragic deaths. In the wake of their loss, I noticed how the North Nashville community came together, offering support and rallying around the victims' family. It's amazing to see people providing meals, organizing vigils, and creating a support network for each other. These acts of kindness remind me that even in the darkest times, there's hope and strength in community solidarity. This painful event also served as a wake-up call for many, emphasizing the urgent need to address gun violence through community engagement. It’s haunting to think of the void left in the lives of Keon's family, but seeing people standing together makes me hopeful for change. How can we continue to build on this sense of unity to make our neighborhoods safer in the long term?
