I've been following LaRhonda Spence's case, and one aspect that's really been on my mind is the impact on her daughter, Deasia Ragland. Losing a parent is incredibly difficult at any age, but Deasia was so young when this tragedy happened. I can't imagine the void and confusion she must have felt then and still feels now. It's not only about losing a mother; it's losing the years of memories they should have built together. I hope LaRhonda's family, especially her mom and siblings, have found ways to keep LaRhonda's memory alive for Deasia. Such senseless violence has deeper ripple effects than we often realize. My heart goes out to Deasia and the rest of LaRhonda’s family as they continue to navigate life without her.
