I was reading about Betsy Raines' case again today, and something that's sticking with me is how deeply her colleagues seemed to care for her. It's easy to see why she was held in such high regard—everything I've read suggests she was genuinely a kind and loving soul. Such a horrible tragedy to have occurred in a place that should have been safe for her. Her colleagues must be dealing with a tremendous sense of loss and trauma too. It's a chilling reminder that workplace safety is so crucial, and it makes me wonder what changes, if any, have been implemented at Casey, Simmons, and Bryant since that awful day. My heart goes out to her husband, Tim, and son, Christopher. I can only hope they have found some peace and support as they navigate life without her.
