I've been following the discussions around the tragic loss of William Ervin, and it got me thinking about the community responses to the surge in violence back in 2017. I remember reading about a few local organizations and churches that had come together to host forums and workshops aimed at curbing this violence. Did anyone here attend any of these events or have firsthand experience with how effective they were? It's truly devastating to see how William's passing represents a much larger issue. From what I gather, at the time, there was a lot of talk about increasing youth outreach programs and promoting better community-police relations. I'm really interested in hearing if those initiatives have made any lasting impact in Nashville and if the community feels safer now compared to back then. I hope William's family finds some solace in the ongoing efforts to create positive change in his memory.
